Learn how to make perfect Jalebi with sugar syrup - an authentic Indian dessert simple recipe from our chef Archana on Ruchkar Mejwani. <br /> <br />Ingredients: <br /> <br />For Sugar Syrup <br />1/2 Kg Sugar <br />1/2 Cup Water <br />1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder <br />Saffron Strands <br />Yellow Food Color <br /> <br />For Jalebi <br />1 Cup All Purpose Flour <br />3 tbsp Gram Flour <br />3 tbsp Curd <br />2 tbsp Hot Ghee <br />Water <br />Yellow Food Color <br /> <br />Method: <br /> <br />- To make sugar syrup in a flat sauce pan add sugar & water. <br />- Then add saffron strands, cardamom powder & yellow food color. <br />- Let everything come to a boil. <br />- Once the sugar melts and the liquid reaches one thread consistency switch off the flame. Sugar Syrup is ready. <br />- In another flat sauce pan heat some ghee for frying the Jalebi. <br />- To make the Jalebis, in a large bowl add all purpose flour, gram flour, curd, hot ghee & water. Make a smooth pouring consistency batter. <br />- Add yellow food color and mix well. <br />- Pour the batter in a sauce bottle and start making the Jalebi. <br />- Fry the Jalebis on both sides. <br />- Directly put the Jalebis in sugar syrup. <br />- Jalebis are ready to serve!
